Sam Hauglum, Founder & Owner of Backwoods Barter, is a dedicated outdoorsman who loves hunting and fishing. Initially frustrated by the lack of stores specializing in used thermal scopes and optics, he saw a greater need for a trusted marketplace where hunters, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts could buy and sell quality used gear and services. That vision led to the creation of Backwoods Barter—a platform designed to make buying and selling outdoor equipment and services secure, easy, and community-driven. With a deep appreciation for the outdoors and a commitment to supporting small businesses, he built Backwoods Barter to be more than just a marketplace—it’s a community for those who live for the hunt, the catch, and the adventure.
